Where did this all start? Our purpose became apparent in the time in our lives that we served as teachers. David & Lily, our founding directors, were both teachers who looked back on their lives and said Aha! A lot of things make much more sense in life when you teach. As educators, they continue the belief that this reality could be just as fulfilling to our fellows.

About Us
Teach First Sri Lanka (TFSL) is a non-profit organisation that builds a movement of leaders who will eliminate educational inequity in Sri Lanka. The Teach First Sri Lanka Fellowship is an opportunity for Sri Lanka's brightest and most promising youth, from the nation’s best universities and workplaces, to serve as full-time teachers to children from low-income communities in under-resourced schools. Through two years of teaching and working with key education stakeholders, our Fellows are exposed to the grassroots realities of Sri Lanka's education system and cultivate the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to attain positions of leadership in and beyond education, working collectively to build a vibrant movement for educational equity across Sri Lanka.
